It is only a matter of time before you either lose you water heater door or it gets so banged up it needs to be replaced. The latch will fail.
It is easy to drill a small hole and screw in a self tapping screw. Problem solved.
Same with the fridge. You WILL loose that door when the plastic locking pieces fall apart. Same fix. Easy. Problem solved.
