But, that's in forteen years, so ....
The second problem I have had with my Blue Ox is the aluminum broke. It failed badly.

THE BOTTOM:
The first problem I had with Blue Ox was their steel bar was related to rust. After ordering it in 2011, by 2014 the bar was pretty well trashed. Blue Ox was GREAT. I got a heck of a deal on a new Alladin aluminum bar. Rust was never more an issue and it only weighed 37 pounds. That story is here: http://www.wolfswords.com/motorhome/saturn.html
When they first made the Alladin, it was rated for 5,000 pounds. By 2014 they were calling it a 7500 pound bar.
Blue Ox refurbishes their tow bars. Now, in 2024, every Alladin sent in was kept as unservicable. Many report that Blue Ox suggests tow bars have a ten year life span. Kinda looks like my old tow bar was due to fail. It was both underrated, stressed and probably overloaded.
I have now replaced it with a 12,500 pound Blue Ox steel Apollo tow bar.
Problem solved.
