8/19/88

We took a 1.76 mile ride to the beach (an easy ride) and watched.  We have been at record high temperatures (above 95 degrees) all of July and August.  Today it is 73 -- Brrrrrr!  Lake is at 79 or 80 degrees -- a record high.  Kids are finally at the playground.  First time in 22 parks we had been assigned a campsite.  Good site--close as we could get to the playground.  We are on 65, 66, and 67 (Tom, KD8EX and Ron, KB8BEB and their families).  Biked about.  Biked to the beach.  Nice but cold.  Sat about a fire and bed at midnight.  Made pizza hobo pies.  Fun!

8/20/88

Up at 8 and 10:30 took a long walk, swam, and had a ball.  Made pizzas and pies and had lots of marshmallows.

8/21/88

Matt is now off training wheels for good.  Swam, walked, had ice cream.  A really nice time.  mom and Tom (and family) left.  We sat by the fire as we did three nights previous.

8/22/88

A really nice trip--first rate all the way!  With friends you do things you would not do.  Ryan (16+) was building sand castles with us and we were making pizza with them.  Now Megan makes a friend.  What a knucklehead they both are.  Because they are shy, neither made friends.  Oh well!  Lunch then home.
