We had a ball.

The weather was perfect.  60s and low 70s with 50s at night.  Clear.  A full moon.  Just perfect.

Our fist day included a trip to Oak Openings Metropolitan Park.  The Boy Scout Troop has been considering a backpacking trip on a 17 mile trail there.  I walked about a mile of it and found it was nice.  Its only drawback is that it is on Toledo Airport's approach and departure vectors.  I spoke to the naturalist who advised they were even moving one camp due to the aircraft noise.  While walking the trail, the Toledo Air Show was in progress.  I was a B-29 flanked by two P-51 Mustangs.  Neat!

Later that day we took a walk around Maumee's bike trail.

The next day found us at the Ottawa Natural Wildlife Refuge.  I saw three (3) eagles and tons and tons of other birds.  At home, we walked the campground's mowed trail.  We stopped counting rabbits at 100.

Our last day stated with a visit to the Pearson Metropark.  We had a nice 1.3 mile woods and 3.3 mile bicycle trail walk.  Back home we did a LONG walk along the lake, behind the lodge, all the way up the camp road and home.  Blew out a pair of shoes on that one.

Now 7:30 AM and getting LP gas on the way home.
