This was a wild winter on the OBX.  The condo was almost fully rented the entire winter.  Never before.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic people want out.

Here is what it looks like in Ohio (all these from the NY Times on March 18, 2021):

Here is North Carolina:

Here's Texas (Matt):

Here's the United States:

With the pandemic, there is no knowing what is next.  Doctors give best advice that later shows as a wild guess based on their training and that guess being mostly wrong.  GOP deniers abound.  "Freedumb" is now a word.  Such is life.

A note with much more data elsewhere.  After my April, 2020 trip I caught the virus and had 21 days of pure hell.  Didn't eat for thirteen days.  Lost twenty pounds.  Didn't sleep for three.  Almost died four time.

Heading down behind some STRONG storms which will result in STRONG north wind and flooding.  Maybe I can get between them.

There was a large storm that pummeled the center of the nation.  Driving down was almost always in HEAVY rain.  Once here, more rain.

I am more and more wary about going up a ladder at home.  These guys?  Doesn't bother them.  A three floor climb!

Took a walk to the Sound.  It is four miles from the condo to the Sound beach.

The walk was nice but Toodles leg has been hurting him.  The longer walk make him very uncomfortable later in the day.  Saw turtles, a Muscovy duck, a weasel-like creature in the grasses and lots of birds.

First time I've seen really active turtles.

Then we had rain.

It stopped for a bit.

More rain.

Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain.

But I accomplished a bunch in the condo, working on the computers.  Working on work.

Wednesday it started getting nice.  Thursday was great.

I sure wish we had Mocking Jays in Ohio:

Wednesday was pretty good.  Thursday was excellent.  Friday was great, too.  Nice walks.  Heading home Friday late afternoon to sleep on the road.

Trip wouldn't be complete without a picture of the home they moved ... how many years ago?  I think the first picture was in 2019.  Pretty sure those air conditioners are up high enough!!!

The ride home was great.  A little spritz of rain but otherwise clear with a bright, clear full moon.  Totally opposite of what we had coming down.
