for a higher resolution picture Left about 1:30 pm and that is a great time. Got to the rest area about 10 pm and had a nice snooze. This was a great trip. Warm, breezy and not at all humid like past May trips. Got a bunch done around the condo. Painted the front door and stoop. Had an AMAZING full moon rising. Walking sound side we came upon two live horseshoe crabs stranded on the beach. One big one was upside down and clearly stuck. I flipped that one over and then moved it to the water which was about twenty feet away due to the tide going out. I went back to get the little crab and did the same. They both turned around and headed back up on the beach. They were going to strand themselves again. They seemed in a hurry. There is no doubt I saved the big one. But WTF … going back to the beach??? About a mile up the beach I am pretty sure I figured out I cock-blocked two crabs.
Here's a fellow who is putting out grass seed. This will be interesting to watch.
I POSTED THIS TO FACEBOOK:
Kinnakeet East of 12: You can IMMEDIATELY help with affordable OBX housing!!!
The Purple Martins would like to report
that there is no room at the inn. Every
spot in every Purple Martin house is
full. They asked me to suggest that
additional Purple Martin houses on Ocean
View Drive would be immediately put to
good use! They suggested that the
decrease in fly and mosquitos would make
that investment pay for years into the
future. I told them I’d put it on
Facebook.
Yet another bunny! This one behind the Hatteras Realty office.
Did more of the sound on Friday:
Left about 6:30 pm on Friday and ended up at the rest area past the NC/VA Loves at about 1 am. Next time leave 5 or 5:30 pm. A nice trip back, etc. Here's our walks:
